Wildlife Experiences

Wildlife Experiences are a way for reserves to fund critical management work. It allows the participant donors to be actively involved as part of the ground team.

We only do work that is needed. The reserve managers determine what needs to be done and what the costs will be.

Participants are involved and hands-on and get to see their donation at work.

All funding is transparent between the reserve, the donors, and Rehabitate (Our implementing arm based in South Africa).

The usual event is for a group of 8 spending 3 nights and 4 days on a big 5 reserve in Zululand or Maputaland and includes multiple activities (depending on what is required) such as dehorning a rhino, collaring cheetah, lions, African wild dogs, elephant, or hyenas, a behind the scenes visit to a rhino orphanage and/or community visit if requested.

Accommodation is on the reserve and 3 star equivalent, although 5 star can be arranged. Drinks, accommodation, food, game drives and the events are included. Funds usually cover the costs of fuel, helicopters, veterinary surgeons, drugs, and tracking equipment as well as provides food for the orphaned rhinos.

The 4 days 3 nights for 8 people is approximately R140 000 to R200 000 and is done under the charity banner so all monies go to conservation on the ground and you get to see it being spent for the good of conservation.
