Born and raised in South Africa as a first generation African, his passion was ignited early by his bush loving parents. Every free holiday moment was spent exploring the bush on the southern border of the Kruger National park.

He grew up with a desire to become a game ranger, and while the world doesn’t always work out as planned, his commitment to the wildlife and his desire to spend every waking our in the bush never waned. Studying animal physiology at university and sometimes guiding in the timbivati in his holidays, his path was changed and he ended up in Asia for 4 years before the desire to return home to Africa became too great

Working in the engineering world and spending holidays in the bush just was never enough. With two very close friends, Clinton Wright from WTF, now with us at Ubuntu WT and Sam Laurence from Enviro-Insight, and over an ice-cold beer in the bush, the Wild Lion Trust was born in 2015.  Through his best mate from Varsity, Aidan Glynn, his brother-in-law Martyn Randall got introduced to the picture, and the WLT developed and matured and grew into the Ubuntu Wildlife Trust UK we all are so proud of today.
